fascinating reconstruction of Marrella, prepared using the ink wash technique, was found in the drawers containing archival collections belonging to Charles Doolittle Walcott (1850-1927), fourth secretary of the Smithsonian Institution and discoverer and collector of the famous fossils of the Burgess Shale. Marrella is one of the most common fossils found at the Cambrian Burgess Shale locality in British Columbia, Canada.
